I just could not let this go by with tossing this recipe into the Holiday mixing bowl. Can you imagine what the aroma would be as they come out of the oven all warm and gooey? It may be cold outside, but these brownies would go great with a steaming mug of hot chocolate or a cup of coffee fortified with Bailey’s Irish Creme. But you probably already thought of that!
Mackintosh Mack Toffee Brownies

Cook: 10 min
You will need:
|2 1/2||Packages MACKINTOSH’S MACK Toffee candy (170g), unwrapped||2 1/2|
|2⁄3 cup||evaporated milk, divided||150 ml||5 oz.|
|1||Package (510 to 515 g) chocolate cake mix||1|
|3⁄4 cup||butter or margarine, melted||175 ml||6 oz.|
|1 cup||finely chopped pecans||250 ml||8.5 oz|
|2 cups||TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels||500 ml||17 oz.|
Tools required: Double boiler, 13 X 9 inch (3.5 L) pan, parchment paper
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Place toffee and 1/3 cup (75 ml) evaporated milk in the top of a double boiler or heat-proof medium bowl set over boiling water. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until completely melted and smooth.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, stir cake mix, butter and remaining evaporated milk until smooth. Stir in pecans. Press 2 cups (500 ml)) of cake mixture into a parchment paper-lined pan. Bake 10 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate morsels evenly over cake base. Spread toffee mixture over top. Crumble remaining cake mixture evenly over toffee.
Bake in center of oven for about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned around edges. Cool in pan on rack. Refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until firm. Lift out of pan onto cutting board. Cut into squares. Makes 32 squares
Put them on a serving dish and stand back! You might want to just put 31 on the dish and hold one back for the cook…errr…that would be YOU…Enjoy this Toffee Treat, It’s Dee-Lish!
